Columbiettes
The Columbiettes are an Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus whose basic purpose is to aid its council spiritually, socially and financially. Founded in 1939, when Msgr. J. Francis McIntyre, Chaplain of the NY Knights of Columbus (later Cardinal McIntyre of Los Angeles) conceived the idea of a ladies organization to work with the Knights of Columbus.
Our Patronesses are the Blessed Virgin Mary – Let us be ever mindful of the responsibility which is ours, by emulating her in her purity, and by imitating her as a Mother, for we, as Catholics know, that she is the foundation of all true motherhood; Saint Therese, the Little Flower – In her great zeal to serve Almighty God, she welcomed any opportunity to make sacrifices and Saint Joan of Arc – She was always ready to give her aid unselfishly to those who defended a righteous cause.
At St. Rose, we are the Columbiettes of Bishop Curley Council 3717, Knights of Columbus, North Syracuse, New York. An organization (exclusively) of practicing Catholic women, we are celebrating 60 years of service in helping others in 2020. Contact President Sheila Burdick (smb195232@verizon.net) or Diane Reichert (dmmmreichert@gmail.com; 315-458-8657) for membership and general information.
